We're very much looking forward to participating in the Division of Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics (DAMOP) annual meeting, which is taking place at the Greater Fort Lauderdale / Broward County Convention Center in Florida from 28 May - 1 June 2018. Our scientific laser representatives will be demonstrating some of our world-leading laser and photonics platforms including SolsTiS and Sprite XT. The team will be in the exhibition area from Tuesday 29 - Thursday 31 May. It also a huge honour to endow the Deborah Jin Award for Outstanding Doctoral Thesis Research in Atomic, Molecular, or Optical Physics, which we have been supporting since 2015. In 2016 the prize was renamed in recognition of the late Deborah Jin’s contributions to physics, and it became known as the Deborah Jin Memorial Endowment. "This award recognises doctoral thesis research of outstanding quality and achievement in atomic, molecular, or optical physics and encourages effective written and oral presentation of research results. The annual award is presented to one individual and consists of a $2,500 stipend and a certificate." The four finalists will deliver their talks during Session D03 (Jin Award for the Best PhD Thesis) on Tuesday 29 May from 2 - 4 pm. The session, chaired by Cindy Regal from JILA/University of Colorado, takes place in the Grand Ballroom A/B. Full conference details are available on the APS Website.
